Sexual Relations
In Sexual Relations, my doodle is being publicly questioned about whether he has had sexual relations with a man. The doodle is caught off guard; his smaller and thinner eyes express anxiety and discomfort. This painting’s theme is derived from the Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky scandal, but in my work the fiery reaction is in response to a homosexual relationship. My doodle is not only being questioned, he is being accused of having sexual relations with a man.
Fuck yes, Oh baby
Fuck yes and Oh baby are inspired by anonymous lovers, these paintings focus on intimacy, sexuality, and the emotional impact of language exchanged during sex. The title comes directly from words spoken during a sexual encounter. The works explore how phrases spoken in moments of intimacy can linger in memory for hours, days, or even years. I question whether these experiences shape future encounters and contribute to our sexual confidence and understanding of ourselves. The paintings are also sex-positive works that emphasize the importance of intimacy, trust, and safe sex. In the composition, the doodle (representing myself) is shown topping the figure, representing the lover, in a missionary position. The drool falling from the doodle’s mouth symbolizes pleasure, kink, and fetish, while also emphasizing raw desire and vulnerability.
